Some parents have asked about the websites the students are using, because they want to try them at home. Check out these educational sites with your child:

     www.funbrain.com

     http://funschool.kaboose.com

     www.pbskids.org

     www.scholastic.com/kids

     www.funisland.com

     www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing

The Academic Foundation has purchased an entire lab set of AlphaSmart NEOs for us.  These machines, which are similar to laptops, can be used by students for writing, keyboarding practice, and test taking.

Fourth grade students usethe NEOs for Keyboarding Lessons.  They keep track of the students' lessons completed, Words per minute, and error rate.

The first and second graders have been using the NEOs for a special project for Mother's Day.  They downloaded their project to Microsoft Word, where they edited it and added Clip Art.

"Stay tuned" for more pictures!  A huge thank you to the Academic Foundation for all their efforts.
